The Tripcatcher phone app runs on both iOS and Android phones. The app is simple to use, and lets you complete your mileage expenses whilst on the move and saves your trips to your Tripcatcher account. There are lots of time saving features such as favourites, GPS and Google Maps for calculating the distance travelled. The Tripcatcher app also allows mileage to be recorded for multiple tripcatcher accounts (important if you have more than 1 company).

Ensures you record all your business miles

It's really easy to enter your business trip using the Tripcatcher phone app. The app is simple to use and the minimum information you need to record is the date of the trip, the reason for the trip and the distance travelled.

In addition:

  • the distance is calculated when you enter your start and end location (Tripcatcher uses Google Maps);
  • you can select your trip from favourites;
  • you can select your home and work locations from your default settings;
  • you can set up a default reason, in the settings page, which will automatically be entered for your trip;
  • you can view your trip on a map to verify the trip details;
  • and finally you can use GPS to track the distance travelled.

Save time with favourites

When entering a new business trip you can tap the toggle switch on the Add Trip page to save the trip as a favourite. The next time you make the same trip, simply select the trip from the list of favourites to populate the trip on the Add Trip page. Less data entry, less time, less hassle. NB If you have lots of favourites you can re-order the list, or remove a favourite.

Claiming the right mileage expenses is much easier

If you don't know the exact distance you travelled on your business journey, Tripcatcher will help. On the Add Trip page there are two input boxes, FROM and TO, where you can enter postcodes, street names, or towns, and Tripcatcher will calculate the distance between the two locations. Tripcatcher uses Google Maps to verify the start and end locations and calculate the distance. Tripcatcher will also provide a map of the route. This ensures you claim the right mileage and provide all the details required by HMRC.

Recording your mileage with GPS

Using Tripcatcher GPS tracking will enable you to record accurate business miles on the go. To start the GPS tracking simply click the Start button, once you have reached your destination click the stop button. Tripcatcher will add your start and end location and the distance travelled to the Add Trip page. All you need to do then is add a reason for the trip and the trip is ready to be saved.

Set up your defaults to save time typing

You can enter your "Home" and "Office" address into the settings page, and then select them in the Add Trip page. This saves you having to enter the same address time and time again. You can also enter your default "Vehicle" and "Reason" for your trip. The Vehicle and Reason for your trip will automatically appear in your Add Trip and GPS pages.

Account Information

Logging into your Tripcatcher account is so simple

It's really easy to use the phone app, and the Account page allows you to login to your Tripcatcher account(s). if you have multiple Tripcatcher accounts (one Tripcatcher account for each of your companies) you can switch between these accounts easily by simply selecting the Tripcatcher account.
